1. Replace in Matched Sets: On twin-belt or multi-belt drives, always replace all belts at the same time to ensure equal tension and prevent uneven pump wear.
2. Check Pulley Alignment: Use a straightedge across the faces of the engine/motor pulley and pump pulley to ensure perfect alignment.
3. Set Proper Belt Tension: Adjust tension so the belt deflects approximately 1/2 inch under firm thumb pressure at the midpoint between pulleys.
